Marash Kumbulla is set to return to Trigoria following a strong loan spell with Espanyol, but his future at Roma remains far from certain.
According to Tuttomercatoweb, the Spanish club is eager to make the defender’s move permanent and has submitted a bid of €7 million. However, Roma have rejected the offer, as the fee would not generate a capital gain for the club—a key consideration under current financial constraints.
Meanwhile, Hellas Verona have also entered the race for his signature. Kumbulla spent over a decade with the Gialloblù, from youth level through to the senior team, before joining Roma in 2020. Now, Verona are eyeing a reunion, especially as they seek a replacement for Diego Coppola in central defense.
While the possibility of returning “home” to Verona is appealing, Kumbulla has not ruled out staying in Spain, where he enjoyed a resurgence last season with consistent performances.
With his contract at Roma running until 2027, the coming weeks will be decisive in determining whether the Albanian international remains in the capital or moves on for the next chapter of his career.
