Barcelona’s pre-season tour in South Korea is progressing smoothly, but one small setback has emerged in the form of a minor issue involving Eric Garcia.
According to SPORT, the defender did not take part in the full training session on Tuesday due to a slight overload in his left leg.
While the rest of the squad trained normally despite the intense heat and humidity, Garcia worked separately as a precaution.
The centre-back, who has been adapting to a right-back role under Hansi Flick, did not join his teammates on the pitch in full capacity.
Instead, he followed a personalised recovery routine to avoid aggravating the muscle strain. The decision is purely precautionary, and there are currently no serious concerns regarding his availability going forward.
It is known that Flick always prioritises player health and is in no rush to push anyone too hard during pre-season.

This approach is also being applied to young midfielder Gavi last season, as well as Marc Bernal, who is part of the touring squad but is unlikely to feature heavily during the Asian leg of Barça’s pre-season.
Meanwhile, Garcia, who impressed against Vissel Kobe by scoring the club’s first goal of the pre-season, has returned to action in strong form.
He rotated with Jules Kounde at right-back during that match, underlining Flick’s willingness to experiment with defensive options.
In contrast, Hector Fort was left out entirely, reinforcing reports that the club is actively seeking to offload him before the season begins.
Barcelona’s next match is scheduled for Thursday against FC Seoul, and it remains to be seen whether Garcia will be fit enough to return.
For now, the club appears content to manage his workload carefully and ensure he is fully ready for the challenges ahead.
