The reigning champions held Colombia to a 0-0 draw in Friday's final Group B match at the Women's Copa America, despite being a player down.
Brazil’s goalkeeper, Lorena, was shown the red card in the 21st minute after handling the ball outside of the area as she aimed to stop a rapid counterattack from Linda Caicedo.
Her dismissal forced Brazil into making an early substitution as Johnson gave way for substitute ‘keeper Claudia.
Despite their advantage of an extra player, Colombia were unable to find a breakthrough as Brazil stood firm in defence.
As the second half got under way, Brazil looked to take the lead through attempts from Yasmin, Gabi Portilho and Dudinha, but they were unable to find the net.
After receiving a yellow card in the first half, Kerolin departed the pitch after 67 minutes.
They came the closest in added time as a free kick from Yasmim hit the crossbar.
Both teams had already marked their place in the semi-finals and the result means Group B leaders Brazil will face Uruguay on Tuesday.
