Juventus captain Danilo insists he won’t leave Juventus in the January transfer window as he wants to help the team on and off the pitch.
Brazilian defender Danilo has not been a regular starter under Thiago Motta at Juventus. Given that his contract expires in June 2025, he’s been linked with January transfers to Manchester United or Napoli.
Nevertheless, the Brazilian defender reiterated that he doesn’t want to leave the Allianz Stadium during the winter transfer window.

“I’ve never said I wanted to leave. There were rumours in the summer, but I’ve always focused only on Juventus,” he told Sky Sport Italia after a 2-0 win Champions League win over Manchester City.
“I have a contract until June, and I want to respect it without leaving midway through the season. Being the captain is a responsibility and a source of pride; I’ll stay here to support the lads and go to the pitch when the coach needs me.”
Danilo played 90 minutes against his former club, Manchester City, on Wednesday and warmly hugged his former coach, Pep Guardiola, after the final whistle.
Danilo, 33, has collected 15 appearances across all competitions this season, providing one assist.
Juventus will be looking for at least one new defender in the January transfer window, given that both Gleison Bremer and Juan Cabal sustained cruciate ligament injuries and are not expected to play again at a club level this season.
