Juventus to use Weah sale to finance move for Nice’s Clauss | OneFootball

Juventus are planning a move for Nice defender Jonathan Clauss, as Timothy Weah looks set to complete a switch to Roberto De Zerbi’s Marseille, reports from Italy claim.

According to what has been reported by today’s edition of the Gazzetta dello Sport, via TuttoMercatoWeb, the Bianconeri are ready to collect €15 million from the sale of Weah to Marseille and will use the funds to reinvest in a new right-back for head coach Igor Tudor.

Juventus are in need of a right-sided defender who has the physical attributes to star in Tudor’s 3-at-the-back system and Sporting continue to push for a move for Alberto Costa.

Clauss and Tudor set for reunion at Juventus?

Clauss and Tudor have already worked together before, when the duo were at Marseille. The Juventus head coach’s familiarity with the player may make this move a no-brainer – especially if a reasonable deal can be agreed with French club Nice.

In addition to the €15 million the Old Lady look set to receive for Weah, Sporting edge closer to the €15 million price tag the Turin side have slapped on Costa. With this healthy financial reinforcement, a move for Clauss would represent no major dent in their transfer budget and will provide the club with an experienced and talented right-back as they prepare for the 2025-26 Serie A campaign.
