Juventus goalkeeper Michele Di Gregorio is a key target for Manchester City ahead of their summer overhaul, according to new reports from Italy.

Both Manchester City’s Ederson and Stefan Ortega Moreno have enjoyed mixed fortunes between the sticks for the Premier League champions so far this season, with a relatively split amount of opportunities somewhat owing to fitness and injury issues.

Pep Guardiola has leapt to the defence of the goalkeeping duo on multiple occasions, but it is no secret that Manchester City will be assessing their options to strengthen their roster in goal during the upcoming summer transfer window.

Despite impressing for much of the first-leg in City’s UEFA Champions League last-16 play-off defeat to Real Madrid, Ederson was heavily criticised for a quick flurry of goals from Brahim Diaz and Jude Bellingham completing a 2-3 turnaround win for Carlo Ancelotti’s side.

Ederson retained his place in the return leg at the Santiago Bernabeu and was again out of position for the first of Kylian Mbappe’s treble of goals, with the 31-year-old left wanting for the Frenchman’s hat-trick effort from the edge of the area.

Stefan Ortega Moreno has proven to be more than a capable number two over the years and notably drew huge praise for his match, and title, winning performance in Manchester City’s penultimate league game against Tottenham last season.

The German shotstopper produced a world class stop to deny Son Heung-Min from levelling at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, before Erling Haaland put the game to bed from the spot shortly after.

With Manchester City set to shuffle their ranks across the pitch in the summer, the club have been linked with a long list of names that could arrive at the Etihad Stadium as part of a new-look squad that Pep Guardiola will take charge of.

According to the information of journalist Paolo Bargiggia, as translated and relayed by Sport Witness, Juventus’ Michele Di Gregorio is a prime target for Manchester City ahead of the summer window.

The 27-year-old Italian has so far amassed 31 appearances for the Old Lady this season and continues to impress in his debut campaign in Turin.

Juventus were alerted about Manchester City’s interest in the former Monza man during talks for Andrea Cambiaso, who is reportedly the number one target at full-back ahead of an expected departure for Kyle Walker in the summer following his loan move to AC Milan.

Ederson declined an offer to move to the Saudi Pro League last year and Stefan Ortega Moreno has held long-standing interest from Germany after playing second fiddle to the former since he joined Manchester City on a free transfer from Arminia Bielefeld in 2022.
