Juventus are exploring the possibility of signing Nottingham Forest midfielder Ibrahim Sangare this summer, as reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport.
They are in the market for a new midfielder due to the imminent departure of Douglas Luiz, while Fabio Miretti has been linked with a move to Napoli.
Luiz has endured a torrid spell in Turin since his €50 million move from Aston Villa and is not considered part of Juve’s plans.
The Brazilian’s relationship with Juve is beyond repair after he failed to report to the pre-season training to force an exit.
The former Villa star’s sale will help Juventus slash their wage bill considerably and provide leeway for new signings.
The 27-year-old has attracted plenty of suitors, but Forest are leading the race after being involved in concrete talks to sign the midfielder.
The Tricky Trees have proposed a loan move with an obligation to buy for a fee worth €30 million. Luiz is also keen on a move to the City Ground.
Juve are looking to capitalise on their healthy ties with Forest by considering a move for Sangare, whose future will be in jeopardy if a deal for Luiz materialises.
The Ivory Coast international has struggled to make his mark at Forest, hampered by injury problems and a lack of consistency.
Juventus are lacking a solid holding midfielder in their ranks apart from Manuel Locatelli, and Sangare’s physicality will make him a perfect fit for manager Igor Tudor’s system.
The Bianconeri have shortlisted Morten Hjulmand of Sporting CP as a potential target, but they need to offload players to afford his hefty valuation.
Juve are currently focused on wrapping up a deal for Randal Kolo Muani. They have proposed a loan move with a buy-option worth €45m for the Paris Saint-Germain forward.
