FC Barcelona continue to work hard to strengthen their squad for the future with new signings and strategic contract renewals.
Over the past few months, the La Liga champions have managed to secure new contract extensions for several key players including the likes of Pedri, Lamine Yamal, Raphinha, and Gavi.
Now, another pivotal part of Hansi Flick’s setup is said to be close to signing a new contract.
Indeed, according to journalist Ben Jacobs, Jules Kounde has reached a verbal agreement with Barcelona over a new contract.

However, the Blaugrana have been working to secure an extension for him for quite some time now, considering how important a player he has become.
Kounde, after all, is the first-choice right-back for Flick and has established himself as one of the best in his position in Europe over the past season. He ended the 2024/25 campaign with four goals and eight assists from 53 games in all competitions.
The 26-year-old right-back has admirers in the Premier League but wants to stay put at Barcelona.
As such, an extension has now been verbally agreed with both the club and the player hoping to finalise a complete and total agreement soon.
This development comes as another win for Barcelona’s sporting management, led by Deco.
