Jules Koundé to sign Barcelona contract extension | OneFootball

L’Équipe understands that Jules Koundé (26) has agreed a contract extension with Barcelona that will tie him to the Catalan club until 2030.

The France international’s deal with the La Liga champions had been set to expire in the summer of 2027. Since making the move from Sevilla, he has become indispensable at right-back and has since secured his place in Les Bleus’ set-up.

Capped 42 times at international level, he is now set to extend at Barcelona. As per L’Équipe, a deal has been reached with Koundé that will see him extend his stay at the Nou Camp until 2023. The deal will also see him increase his salary.

The breakthrough in talks came amid interest in the former Sevilla defender. Manchester City were notably interested, however, he has been in talks over an extension at Barcelona for several weeks. Only a few small details need to be sorted before the deal is officialised.
