The Blues are also thought to be in the market for a versatile forward and a centre back to strengthen Enzo Maresca’s squad ahead of next season.

Chelsea have bid in excess of £50m rejected for Joao Pedro

Whilst a striker was the main priority this summer, the Blues are in the market for a versatile forward given both Christopher Nkunku and Joao Felix are set to leave.

Chelsea have been linked with Hugo Ekitike and Mohammed Kudus, whilst in recent weeks Brighton’s Pedro has also emerged as a target.

The 23-year-old scored ten Premier League goals last season, and Chelsea have held discussions about signing Pedro.

Newcastle also hold strong interest in the Brazil international, and Aarons has provided an update on the pursuit of Pedro.

He took to X.com and said:

“Understand that Brighton have rejected bids from two clubs – believed to be Newcastle and Chelsea – in excess of £50m for Joao Pedro. Talks are ongoing…”

Joao Felix attracting interest from Saudi Arabia

Whilst Pedro could arrive, Felix is almost certainly heading for the exit door despite only joining from Atletico Madrid last summer for £45m.

The Portugal international spent the second half of last season on loan at AC Milan, but the Italian giants have opted against making his move permanent.

Felix is attracting interest from clubs in Saudi Arabia with Neom and Al-Nassr thought to be the clubs interested, whilst he’s also been linked with a return to Benfica, but Chelsea could struggle to recoup the fee they paid.
