However, that does not mean that the Catalan club will not look at other possible options to consider as well. Reportedly, the option of signing Inter Milan star Denzel Dumfries is one that appeals to Barcelona and his release clause is reportedly an affordable one too.

Furthermore, according to SPORT, the player’s new agent is now Jorge Mendes and he has even offered the Dutch full-back’s services to Barcelona already. As per the report, he informed the club about his €25 million release clause and the finer details of it as well.

For starters, it is believed to be valid only until the 15th of July, and that date is fast-approaching. At the same time, however, the report claims that Dumfries would be more than willing to leave Inter Milan this summer and join Barcelona without even hesitation.

Ultimately, this makes it clear enough that the good relationship between Jorge Mendes and Barcelona could play a key role here. After all, if the club were to pursue his signing eventually, Mendes would likely end up playing a huge role in the operation.

Affordable and a profile that Hansi Flick wants

Moreover, the player reportedly has a salary that would be within the Catalan outfit’s budget and he would fit in easily in that regard. However, while the expiry date of the release clause makes this operation tricky, Mendes has reportedly told Barcelona that he expects the final asking price to remain close to that €25 million price tag even after the expiry date.

As for Hansi Flick, Dumfries possesses a profile that he believes the team currently lacks on the right flank. For the Barcelona coach, it is reportedly important to have two dynamic and fast-paced full-backs on both flanks, and it is a tactical adjustment that the likes of Inter Milan and Paris Saint-Germain have proven to be good examples for.
