Is there another twist in the tale in the Jordan Henderson (34) saga? AS Monaco have been in the search for a midfielder throughout the window and Adi Hütter confirmed on Friday that the Principality club were looking for an “experienced” player in this position.
As initially reported by Fabrizio Romano, Henderson recently emerged as the No.1 target. However, in the past 48 hours, there have been plenty of twists and turns and on Friday evening, David Ornstein reported that the deal was off with the England international going back on his decision and promising to remain with Ajax until the end of the season.
However, L’Équipe reported in the early hours of Saturday morning that the move could still be on. Henderson, having made a U-turn, promising to remain with the Dutch side, made another U-turn, once again stating his desire to complete a move to Monaco. Ajax are, however, now demanding a transfer fee for Henderson. They want €2m. He remains the Principality club’s No.1 target, however, they will turn their focus to other options, should they fail to get it over the line in the coming hours.
