The Canaries are under new management heading into the new campaign, as the club decided to move on from David Wagner by bringing Johannes Hoff Thorup as his replacement.

This is Hoof Thorup’s first time managing in England, and even though that is the case, expectations will be on him to meet the club’s demands.

Norwich managed to seal a spot in the play-offs last season by finishing in sixth place, but it wasn’t a particularly great season for the Norfolk side, and their poor performances in the play-offs summed that up.

The hope will be that they can go further this time around, and to do so, they will be planning on having a perfect transfer window.

With that said, here we have looked at how Norwich’s perfect 2024 summer transfer window looks…

Joe Worrall signs for Norwich

Nottingham Forest’s Joe Worrall is very much a wanted man this summer, as his future looks to be away from the City Ground.

It has been reported that Coventry City and Sheffield United hold an interest in the defender, with Forest looking to sell the player for around £4 million.

It has since been claimed that the Sky Blues have cooled their interest in Worrall, leaving Sheffield United remaining.

The Canaries have not been mentioned with an interest in Worrall, but the defender would be a very good addition for the club, as he would certainly strengthen their defence.

Norwich have seen Ben Gibson leave this summer, so if they could agree a deal for Forest and sign Worrall, it would be the perfect replacement, as Worrall has enormous Championship experience and great leadership qualities that would only improve the club’s defence.

Obviously, this is a player that hasn’t been mentioned with interest in Norwich, but given their current choices in defence, Worrall would be an impressive signing.

Jacob Lungi Sorensen leaves Norwich

Norwich signed Jacob Lungi Sorensen from Esbjerg fB in July 2020, giving the Denmark midfielder his first chance at English football.

It hasn’t been a move that has quite gone to plan, as the 26-year-old has rather struggled since arriving at Carrow Road.

Sorensen played 32 times in the Championship in his first season, but since then he has played a small role in the club’s campaigns.

Last season, Sorensen played just 13 times in the second tier, while he also featured in one of the play-off encounters against Leeds United.

The Canaries decided to extend the player’s contract by another season, with them having the option to extend it again for another 12 months.

However, the midfielder has struggled to make a strong impact at Norwich, and even though they have just given him a fresh deal, it may be time that the pair cut their ties.

Norwich would unlikely get a lot for the player, but it would allow them some more room to find a replacement who may be a better upgrade.

Gabriel Sara sold for a sizeable fee

The Norwich board would love to be able to keep hold of their best players, which Gabriel Sara is definitely, but being a Championship team, they will know that if big offers arrive, they have no choice but to accept them.

Sara has been heavily linked with a move to Serie A side Roma in recent days, and while the Canaries would love to keep the Brazilian, selling him this summer may actually suit the Norfolk side.

His departure could mean that the club has a hefty amount of money available for them to re-invest back into their squad.

Therefore, if Sara were to leave Norwich, then it would be for a rather large fee, as while he would be missed, his departure for a large sum of money could help Norwich sign players over the course of the summer.

Jonathan Rowe is a product of Norwich’s academy, and last season he rose to fame in the club’s first team.

The winger made a handful of appearances for the Canaries before last season, but the 2023/24 campaign was Rowe’s breakthrough season for the club.

The 21-year-old became a very important player in the club’s attack, as he scored 12 goals and recorded two assists in 32 league games.

His performances were so impressive that Rowe started to gain admirers during and after the campaign.

Premier League side Wolverhampton Wanderers are the latest team to be linked with a move for Rowe, who still has a year left to run on his contract.

Of course, Norwich would ideally not like to sell Rowe this summer, as they would want to keep the attacker as part of their team as they try to return to the Premier League. But the Canaries may not have much choice given his contract situation and what money they may get offered.

Therefore, in an ideal world, Norwich would love to get through this transfer window with Rowe still at the football club and him extending his contract at Carrow Road.

Adam Idah doesn’t leave for Celtic

Similar to Rowe, Norwich forward Adam Idah is also the subject of transfer interest, as Scottish side Celtic are looking to re-sign the striker this summer.

Idah spent the second half of last season on loan with the Hoops, and it was a switch that saw the forward really excel.

The 23-year-old netted nine times in 19 games in all competitions for Celtic last season, with him playing a big role in the club winning the league and cup double.

The Canaries are said to have valued the forward at around £8 million, with Brendan Rodgers keen on re-signing the striker this summer.

Norwich setting this price may mean they will accept an offer should it come around this figure, but with Idah still under contract until 2028, if Norwich had their way, they would surely like to keep hold of the striker beyond this transfer window.

Idah has shown glimpses in a Norwich shirt, but given what he did with Celtic, the Canaries would surely rather keep him and hope he can continue that form for them this season.
