The Danish midfielder arrived at Carrow Road on a free transfer in October last year, having seen his contract with Premier League side Bournemouth expire in the summer.

Marcondes would pen a one-year deal with Norwich City, as well as having the option of an extra 12 months included in that deal, but his highly impressive performances for the Norfolk-based outfit this season has seen many supporters call for him to be tied down long-term.

Football League World exclusively revealed on 10 April that Norwich City have offered fresh terms to Marcondes after his excellent season at Carrow Road, and judging by Thorup's latest words on the midfielder, we could be about to learn what that deal looks like.

Speaking via The Pink Un, the Canaries boss has strongly hinted that news of Marcondes' new contract will emerge after the club's Easter Monday clash with Millwall.

He said: "We can probably open up for a little bit more clarity and communication after we play (against Millwall).

"Then everyone will know exactly where we are with the contractual situations on different players.

"But he has been vital for the team in many ways. He can take a little bit of the pressure off some of our other players because he naturally thrives on it. He gives us something."

It's been a fairly frustrating season for Norwich City, with Thorup's side underperforming the talent within the squad.

However, there has been a handful of individuals who've enjoyed highly impressive campaigns, and Marcondes is certainly one of them, with his free agent signature looking like one of the bargains of the Championship season despite him reportedly costing Norwich £25,000-a-week (per Capology).

The 30-year-old has been a creative livewire for the Canaries, with his five goals and six assists in 32 games (correct as of AM 21 April) highlighting just how pivotal he's been to Norwich's potent attack force.

"He (Marcondes) gives us some presence up front," Thorup continued. "I think that sometimes we're probably a little bit too dependant on scoring goals where everything is just right: 20 passes in a row that are completely right, the perfect delivery, the perfect finish.

"But sometimes he can take a scrappy situation and turn it into a good offensive situation for us. He plays the game very well, he reads the game very well. He stays in very offensive positions and is always looking for where the ball can drop down or where the rebound could be, where the chance could be.

"In many ways I think he's a little bit different to some of our other offensive players, and he's got the experience in the league that we have seen a couple of times. Either from the bench or as a starter, he can give some of the younger boys experience."
