Jobe Bellingham may have a hard time living up to the hype which comes from being related to a Galactico - but the teenage midfielder's statistics in the Championship for Sunderland last season suggest he is on a similar trajectory to his big brother Jude Bellingham.
Set to sign imminently for Borussia Dortmund, and follow the same career path as his prodigious sibling, Jobe will leave Tyneside having helped the Black Cats earn promotion via a dramatic Championship play-off final victory over Sheffield United at Wembley.
Jobe finished the campaign with four goals and three assists to his name in the second tier, but a closer look at his statistics last term shows that he has most of the attributes you could want in a modern day midfielder. Sound familiar to a Real Madrid superstar you know?
To highlight Bellingham Jr's key strengths, here are SIX stats in which the 19-year-old ranked among the 'Top 50' players in the Championship last term.
1. Tackles won There is certainly bite to Jobe Bellingham's game and he was more than able to handle the considerable physical demands of the Championship - the England youth international ranking 33rd in the division for tackles won in 2024/25.
2. Aerials won In total, the teenage starlet won 78 aerial duels last term, which ranked him third among midfield players in the Championship.
3. Successful dribbles The talented teen has the ability to progress play with the ball at his feet and his 37 successful dribbles last term ranked him 37th among his peers in the second tier. Notably, of players to rank in the Championship's 'Top 50' for successful take-ons, Bellingham was one of only a handful to have a dribble completion rate above 50%.
4. Shots from outside the box Although he only notched once from long range last season, the younger Bellingham certainly possesses the confidence to take on shots from outside the box - only 36 players taking on more shots for further than 18 yards out than the teenager (25) in the Championship in 2024/25.
5. Key passes Any attacking midfielder worth their salt will aim to rank highly in this stat category and despite his tender years, Bellingham was one of the most creative passers in the Championship. In total, he completed 48 key passes last season to place him 37th in the division.
6. Fouls drawn With set-pieces an increasingly important part of the modern game, the capacity to lure opponents into fouls is a valuable one - and Jobe Bellingham has the knack. Stopped illegally on 63 occasions, the wonderkid ranked 19th overall for free-kicks won in the Championship last term.
