Barcelona president Joan Laporta late this week paid a visit to the home of a member of the club’s first-team ranks.
That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who point towards Marc-André ter Stegen as the player in question.
The name of goalkeeper Ter Stegen has of course dominated the headlines in Catalunya’s capital across the week to date.
This comes, first, after the German refused to sign off on Barcelona’s medical report regarding his recent surgery, culminating in the Camp Nou brass making the call to strip Ter Stegen of his role as captain.
The 33-year-old on Friday had a change of heart, however, going back on his previous stance, and committing to the Blaugrana’s medical cert.
In turn, it was decided that Ter Stegen would be immediately reinstated as club captain.
And as alluded to above, in the aftermath of as much, the experienced shot-stopper was paid a visit by none other than Barca president Joan Laporta.
As per a report from MD:
‘Laporta showed up at Ter Stegen’s house, and the two spoke for a long time about the reasons on both sides that had led to the situation they’d experienced in recent days. The conversation went well, and as a result, the president informed the club that his decision was to close the disciplinary proceedings and return the captaincy to Ter Stegen.’
