Bruk Bet Termalica Nieciecza have confirmed the signing of Jesus Jimenez, with the striker joining the newly promoted Ekstraklasa side on a free transfer. Jimenez, now 31, returns to Poland having spent his most recent season with Kerala Blasters in the Indian Super League.
Jimenez arrives at Nieciecza after a productive stint in India, where he registered 11 goals and 1 assist in 18 league appearances last season. Those numbers underline the forward’s consistency in front of goal and his ability to influence play in the final third.
This move also marks a reunion with coach Marcin Brosz, under whom Jimenez saw his most prolific spell in Poland at Gornik Zabrze. During his time at Zabrze, Jimenez became the second most effective foreign player in the club’s history. That connection with Brosz could prove pivotal as Nieciecza look to establish themselves in Poland’s top flight after promotion.
For Nieciecza, bringing in Jimenez on a free transfer fits their pattern this window; the club has yet to spend on transfer fees but has focused on shrewd, experience-driven signings. Jimenez is set to wear the number 9 shirt and is expected to play a prominent role, joining recent additions like Rafał Kurzawa and Lucas Masoero as the club bolsters its squad for the challenges ahead.
From Kerala Blasters’ perspective, Jimenez departs as their standout player from last season, both in terms of goal output and chance creation. His decision to move on comes as his contract in India expired at the end of June.
Gornik Zabrze fans might have hoped for a homecoming, given his past success there, but the club appears well stocked in attack, leaving Nieciecza to capitalise.
While the specific length and terms of Jimenez’s contract at Nieciecza have not been made public, nor have there been any official farewell messages from the player, his arrival adds a proven Ekstraklasa performer to Brosz’s options as Nieciecza look to adjust to life back in the top division.
