Jay Turner-Cooke completes FC Halifax Town move | OneFootball

The attacking midfielder has joined National League outfit FC Halifax Town, having spent four-and-a-half years with United after joining from Sunderland in January 2021.

The 21-year-old didn't make a competitive first team appearance for the Magpies, but played under Eddie Howe in a handful of friendlies, making his senior debut in Newcastle's Diriyah Season Cup win against Al Hilal in December 2022.

Turner-Cooke made his professional bow whilst on loan at League Two Tranmere Rovers in February 2023 and also spent the first half of the 2023/24 campaign on loan at Scottish Premiership side St Johnstone.

The South Shields-born youngster was handed his debut for the Shaymen as a second-half substitute in Tuesday's 1-0 away win against Boston United and will be aiming to make his first start for his new club when Adam Lakeland's side welcome Forest Green Rovers to The Shay on Saturday, 23rd August.
