Manchester United are desperate to get rid of Jadon Sancho, who has attracted a lot of interest, but all his suitors have a common obstacle to overcome.
United’s asking price of £25 million is not seen as a major hurdle, with Juventus, Napoli, and even Fenerbahce capable of paying the aforementioned amount.
But the forward’s £250,000 gross per week wages (via capology) is something none of the teams are ready to pay.
There were reports that suggested former United boss Jose Mourinho’s call had convinced the 25-year-old to leave the Premier League for Turkey.
Journalist Rudy Galetti has claimed that Fener are ready to pay United’s asking price, but are not ready to accept the Englishman’s wage demands.
They are hoping that as the end of the window draws nearer, the United forward will understand the folly of his ways and voluntarily reduce his ask.
“Fenerbahce are working hard on Jadon Sancho, not so much on the fee with Man United – not considered an issue – but on the wages.
“The £10m/y request is the real hurdle: talks with Jadon are ongoing. Fener hope time will help lower demands, but competition is growing,” the journalist wrote on X (formerly Twitter).
There is fierce competition in the form of Juventus and Napoli, both of whom could potentially be ready to pay more than the Turkish giants.
The 25-year-old has already said yes to Napoli, while Juventus also are close to agreeing a deal with the 20-time English league champions.
Fenerbahce need to get a move along if they are to win the race. INEOS will be hoping at least one of the suitors can agree personal terms with the England international, even if it means they are earn a slightly lower fee.
They do not want this to drag into a transfer saga, and are keen to get outgoings started with Ruben Amorim keen to add a striker, midfielder and goalkeeper before the window slams shut.
