Jack Grealish is set to be out to be left out of the Manchester City squad for the Club World Cup as his exit from the club nears, according to the Telegraph.
The England international's future at the Etihad has been uncertain for months now, as he played just 715 minutes in the Premier League last season, and failed to even make the bench for the final day win at Fulham.
It marked a significant decline from his key role in the treble-winning campaign just two years ago, and this latest report, as well as the imminent arrival of Rayan Cherki, will almost certainly bring an end to his four years working under Pep Guardiola.
The City boss has insisted there is no issue with Grealish, and was full of praise for the England star last month, saying: "Of course, Jack has to play. He’s an unbelievable player that has to play football every three days. It didn’t happen this season and last season either. He needs to do it, with us or another place."
It now appears it will be another place, albeit his wages will make any permanent move a challenge for both player and club.
However, Grealish will be desperate to play regular football and impress Thomas Tuchel ahead of the 2026 World Cup, having missed out on EURO 2024 partly due to limited game time.
