Luton Town may face a battle to keep hold of first-choice goalkeeper Thomas Kaminski this summer

Ipswich Town are believed to be eager on securing a deal for Luton Town shot-stopper Thomas Kaminski.

That is according to Alan Nixon's recent Patreon report, who places the Belgian international on the radar of Kieran McKenna.

After spending three impressive campaigns with Blackburn Rovers in the Championship, Kaminski made the move to Kenilworth Road last summer with Rob Edwards looking to instill first-class second-tier know-how in order to keep Luton in good stead in the event of relegation.

That's exactly how it panned out and while Kaminski was unable to prevent an immediate return to the Championship for Edwards' side, he's clearly shown enough to potentially remain in the Premier League.

Kaminski played in all 38 Premier League outings for Luton and was subjected to routine praise, often keeping the Hatters in matches when they had been facing onslaughts.

Ipswich Town's Thomas Kaminski transfer interest depends on Carl Rushworth pursuit

Nixon's report claims that Ipswich's pursuit of Kaminski hinges on their existing interest in Carl Rushworth of Brighton and Hove Albion.

22-year-old Rushworth made a significant impression on loan with Swansea City last term, having previously caught the eye in temporary stints with Walsall and Lincoln City.

The ex-England youth international played every match for the south Wales side and earned plaudits for his distribution, a vital component in Luke Williams' side that will be equally desired by Kieran McKenna.

Either way, it seems likely that Rushworth, who has moved up a division each season in his young career to date, will be playing Premier League football next season although Brighton's stance remains unclear.

Luton will no doubt be hoping that a deal can be struck between Brighton and Ipswich for Rushworth's services, as Kaminski will certainly be a crucial part of Edwards' thinking ahead of their promotion pursuit.

Vaclav Hladky manned the sticks for the Tractor Boys last term but it's believed that Kieran McKenna is in the market for an upgrade, with the Czechian also out of contract this summer, and Ipswich's pursuit of Kaminski will likely accelerate if they fail to strike a deal for Brighton's Carl Rushworth.

Luton Town must try and hold on to Thomas Kaminski amid Ipswich Town transfer interest

The Hatters will be sweating over the situation at present, given Kaminski's proven worth in the second-tier.

He's previously shown himself to be right up there as one of safest pair of hands in the Championship, making him an invaluable asset for a promotion-chasing outfit.

They will likely already be bracing themselves for approaches pertaining to the likes of Carlton Morris, Elijah Adebayo and Alfie Doughty, all of whom have previously excelled in the Championship and chalked up 10 or more goal involvements each last term.

So they can't really afford to lose Kaminski, but given his displays in the top-flight, he has every right to want to remain there and they may eventually find it hard to get in his way.
