It was a night of mixed fortunes for City stars on international duty.
In the Nations League, Croatia were the only winners involving our players, with Portugal and Belgium both losing.
However, we begin our round-up with a World Cup qualifier.
Abdukodir Khusanov played the full 90 minutes as Uzbekistan saw off 10-man Kyrgyz Republic 1-0 to keep the Uzbeks in second place and on the trail of Group A leaders Iran for automatic 2026 FIFA World Cup qualification (AFC) with three more group matches to play.
The match, played in Khusanov's home city of Tashkent, saw Kyrgyz Republic reduced to 10 men on 34 minutes when Said Vladimirovich Datsiev was shown a straight red card.
What proved to be the only goal of the game came six minutes later as Pakhtakor FC's Alijinov Khojiakbar scored on 40 minutes.
In what was Khusanov's 19th appearance for his country, the hosts dominated the game from start to finish, registering 20 shots, nine of which found the target.
With leaders Iran beating UAE 2-0, the win leaves Uzbekistan six points clear of the third placed UAE and closing in on an historic qualification.
In the UEFA Nations League, Kevin De Bruyne started for Belgium - and the City skipper assisted Romelu Lukaku's 40th-minute opener away to Ukraine.
Team-mate Jeremy Doku would be an unused sub on the night and the Red Devils led until the 66th-minute before the hosts roared back with three goals in 12 minutes from Hutsuliak, Vanat and Zabarnyi to win the the play-off (A/B) 3-1 in Murcia.
Belgium will hope to turn the tie around in the return leg in Genk on Sunday.
Portugal fared no better, losing their Nations League quarter-final first leg against Denmark.
Ruben Dias played the full 90 minutes as Rasmus Højlund scored the only goal of the game on 78 minutes to secure a 1-0 win in Parken.
Bernardo Silva came off the bench on 86 minutes to earn his 99th cap but couldn't help the Portuguese find an equaliser, though Roberto Martinez's side will still fancy their chances in Sunday's second leg in Lisbon.
There was better news for City's Croatian duo Mateo Kovacic and Josko Gvardiol.
Both played the full 90 minutes as Croatia beat France 2-0 in their Nations League quarter-final first leg at the Stadion Poljud in Split.
First-half goals from Budimir and Perišić were enough to see off a star-studded French side, who will look to overturn the aggregate score in Saint-Denis on Sunday.
Elsewhere, Savinho came on as a late substitute for Brazil as they moved up to second in South American World Cup qualifying with a 2-1 win over Colombia.
Barcelona's Raphinha had given the hosts an early lead from the penalty spot but it looked like they'd have to settle for a point after Luis Diaz pulled the Colombians level on the stroke of half-time.
However, Vinicius Junior's effort deep into stoppage time handed Savinho and co. a dramatic late win.
