Players receiving the call-up during the international break is a good sign for Aston Villa. A good amount of players from the club will be with their respective country teams. These included some of the selected groups being part of the Under-21 sides. While this weekend takes away from the immediate excitement and demanded attention of the Premier League campaign, there are notable developments to look for from the Villa players.
First and foremost, skipper John McGinn will lead Scotland against Greece in the Nations League. After scoring a goal in the last game for his country, the captain will look to secure a pair of victories. Youri Tielemans also commands the midfield away from Villa. He and Belgium are slated against Ukraine. France will face Croatia, as AVFC supporters will see how Lucas Digne performs for Les Bleus. Many are looking forward to the Netherlands and Spain games, and Donyell Malen has made the Dutch side for those Nations League fixtures.
Poland has important World Cup qualifiers to win. Matty Clash and his countrymen will look to bolster their trip to North America next year with wins against Lithuania and Malta. Emiliano Martínez will stand between the posts when Argentina faces Uruguay and Brazil for their qualifying games. Robin Olsen will look to do so as well in the Sweden and Luxembourg friendlies. Leon Bailey will represent Jamaica as they play St. Vincent and the Grenadines in a pair of CONCACAF matches with World Cup implications.
For England, Ezri Konsa, Morgan Rogers, and Marcus Rashford are part of Thomas Tuchel's first Three Lions side. They will take on Albania and Latvia in World Cup qualifying. Those with WC positioning stakes on the line will especially want to have a good showing while away from Aston Villa.
The U-21 national teams are also seeing plenty of support from Villa. Sam Iling-Junior and Jaden Philogene will do so for England, as well as Andrés Garcia for Spain. The Dutch Under-21 roster will feature Lamare Bogarde and Ian Maatsen. Lee Carsley has a tough task ahead with ENG facing Portugal and France. The Spaniards will face Germany. Holland will play Italy and Romania in their friendlies.
