Intermediaries inform Newcastle United that Goncalo Ramos transfer is now possible – Report | OneFootball

Goncalo Ramos is now a possibility for Newcastle United.

The Mail say that their sources have informed them that a deal to sign the PSG striker is now possible.

They report that Goncalo Ramos has admirers at Newcastle United.

When on the club’s shortlist earlier this month, The Mail say that United enquired about the 24 year old but were rebuffed, told a move was unlikely.

However, that has now all changed, according to this new report on Friday, with intermediaries indicated a deal could potentially get done.

The report states that PSG are looking to sell Goncalo Ramos rather than a loan deal, the French club signed the striker in a £70m deal two years ago in summer 2023.

Ramos has only started 34 matches for PSG in his two years at the club, scoring 34 goals, with most (50) of his 88 appearances as a sub.

Yoane Wissa is expected to arrive shortly at Newcastle United as Callum Wilson’s replacement but Alexander Isak would only be potentially allowed to leave if a replacement for him could be signed as well.

Ramos’ latest goal came on Wednesday, when coming off the bench and scoring in the fourth minute of added time to rescue a dramatic 2-2 draw in the UEFA Super Cup. Goncalo Ramos then went on to also score in the penalty shootout to help PSG lift the trophy.

Goncalo Ramos has already played at St James’ Park, not long after joining PSG he started in the 4-1 Newcastle win in the Champions League. Ramos also came off the bench late on in the 1-1 draw in Paris, when United were cheated out of the win with that shocking penalty decision in added time.
