Iran had been trailing twice at home to Uzbekistan with goals from Khojimat Erkinov and Abbosbek Fayzullaev.

However, Inter striker Taremi got two goals to complete the double comeback and grab a precious 2-2 draw.

The first goal was particularly spectacular, a ferocious volley into the roof of the net from just inside the penalty area.

The 32-year-old has found the net three times with six assists in 34 competitive appearances for Inter so far this season.

Italy will begin their 2026 World Cup qualifying campaign in Norway on June 6.

They are in Group I along with Moldova, Israel and Estonia.
