Inter Milan are set to hold the decisive contract extension talks with wingback Denzel Dumfries in the very near future.

This according to Italian news outlet FCInter1908. The outlet also reports that Fiorentina’s Michael Kayode is not a player the Nerazzurri would consider a serious target to replace the Dutchman.

At the moment, Dumfries’s future at Inter still looks very much up in the air.

What is clear is that the former PSV wingback’s contract with Inter runs out at the end of June of next year as things stand.

Therefore, the Nerazzurri will want to either extend Dumfries’s contract, or else sell him.

There have been some talks with the 28-year-old’s agent already. However, so far there has been no agreement on a new deal for Dumfries.

Reports have indicated that Inter have not made an offer that has met the player’s demands.

Therefore, Inter could aim to sell Dumfries during the summer transfer window.

Reports suggest that Premier League giants Manchester United are among the potential suitors for the Dutchman.
