Inter Milan President Marotta Declares ‘We Have To Be Ambitious’ After Champions League Draw Vs Liverpool & Arsenal | OneFootball

Beppe Marotta says that Inter Milan “have to be ambitious” after drawing the likes of Liverpool and Arsenal in the Champions League.

The Nerazzurri spoke to the official UEFA channel, via FCInterNews, after the draw.

Inter learned which eight teams they’ll face in the Champions League league phase in yesterday’s UEFA draw.

There were a couple names that really stood out among the teams that Inter drew. The Nerazzurri will be facing two Premier League teams in the form of Liverpool and Arsenal.

Last season as well, Inter took on two teams from the English top flight.

The Nerazzurri drew Manchester City 0-0 away in their Champions League opener. Then, they went one better and beat Arsenal 1-0 at the San Siro.

Inter President Beppe Marotta gave his thoughts after yesterday’s draw.

“We’re starting again with the same motivation we had last season,” he said. “Which took us all the way to the final in Munich – even if that didn’t go the way we wanted.”

“We’re Inter, so we have to be ambitious,” the Nerazzurri President declared.

“I have to say that facing teams like Arsenal and Liverpool is particularly exciting,” said Marotta.

“Of course, they’ll be a big challenge for us. But that’s the beauty of football.”

Meanwhile, of the Champions League as a whole, Marotta noted that Inter “have been participating consistently since the 2018-29 season.”

“We’re the team that have best represented Italy,” he declared. “That’s a source of great pride for us.”
