Udinese defender Oumar Solet has reportedly risen up Inter’s shortlist of targets.

The 25-year-old is reportedly the player the Nerazzurri will move for in the event that they sell Benjamin Pavard.

Inter have missed out on other targets such as Koni De Winter and Giovanni Leoni. However, they are still considering a reshape of their backline.

There is one major hitch as far as the prospect of a deal for Solet, however.

The Udinese defender is currently under investigation for an alleged sexual assault which took place in Udine.

This obviously creates significant uncertainty regarding the player’s future. The investigation is still open, and Solet could even face jailtime.

For this time, Inter do not have any intention of signing Solet on a permanent basis immediately.

Rather, the Nerazzurri are aiming to sign the player on an initial loan. There would then be a purchase option in the deal, pending the outcome of the investigation.

The Gazzetta report that this purchase option would be worth around €20-25 million.
