Inter Milan have made Brazil and Atheltico Paranaense goalkeeper Bento into their “priority target” for this summer transfer window.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews. The newspaper anticipate that the Nerazzurri see landing the 24-year-old as more important than their striker or defender search.

Goalkeeper is one of the positions where Inter are definitely aiming to make a significant signing this summer.

Currently, Yann Sommer is the clear Number One between the posts for Inter.

The Swiss international veteran joined the Nerazzurri from Bayern Munich last summer.

Meanwhile, Emil Audero is Sommer’s deputy. The 27-year-old arrived from Sampdoria on loan last summer.

Inter have a purchase option to sign Audero on a permanent basis.

But the Nerazzurri’s plan is instead to sign a player capable of backing up Sommer in the short term but also succeeding him in the future.

Inter Make Brazil International Bento “Priority Target”

Inter’s top target in goal is certainly Paranaense keeper Bento.

The Nerazzurri have been admirers of the Brazilian for some time. They see him as having all the attributes to be a top-level keeper in Europe.

Moreover, Bento would be happy to join Inter.

The Corriere report that the 24-year-old’s first choice would certainly be to make the move to the Nerazzurri.

The biggest stumbling block would naturally be the fee.

Paranaense will want at least €20 million for Bento considering he is now a full Brazilian international.

The Brazilian may have been a prospect for the future twelve months ago. Now, however, his quality is proven – and with it, his price tag has risen.

But Inter are prepared to make an investment, allocating a big chunk of their summer transfer budget to signing Bento.

At the end of May, Inter will hold an internal meeting to define their transfer strategy for the summer.

And going all-in for Bento is likely to be among the key points. After that meeting, Inter could launch their bid.
