Inter Milan are considering a move to sign AS Monaco winger Maghnes Akliouche this summer, according to L’Equipe.

With a move for Ademola Lookman hanging in the balance, the Nerazzurri have started looking for alternatives.

Akliouche caught Inter’s attention with a brilliant goal against them in a recent friendly.

The French forward is one of Europe’s hottest properties, and the Ligue 1 giants are open to selling him due to the growing interest.

However, Monaco have placed a €70 million price tag on Akliouche and are unwilling to move from it.

Inter will face competition from Bayer Leverkusen, who have positioned themselves as a top candidate to sign Akliouche.

Having filled their coffers with the sales of Florian Wirtz, Jeremie Firmpong and Granit Xhaka, the German giants are ready to meet Akliouche’s valuation.

The 23-year-old burst onto the scene after bagging seven goals and 12 assists last season, punctuated by incredible performances in Ligue 1 and the Champions League.

Inter haven’t completely given up the pursuit of Lookman and are trying to reach an agreement with Atalanta.

They have had an offer worth €45 million rejected as Atalanta are holding out for €50m.

The Nigerian winger hasn’t joined Atalanta’s training in an attempt to secure a move to the San Siro.

Akliouche has all the tools to succeed at Inter, but his hefty valuation makes him far from an ideal target for the Serie A giants.

The Nerazzurri have shortlisted Manchester United’s Jadon Sancho and Chelsea’s Christopher Nkunku as alternative options to reinforce their attack.
