Inter Milan midfielder Davide Frattesi is happy for teammates Marko Arnautovic and Kristjan Asllani getting on the scoresheet against Udinese.
The Italian international spoke to InterTV after the Coppa Italia victory, via FCInterNews.
Inter beat Udinese 2-0 to reach the quarterfinals of the Coppa Italia yesterday.
And the Nerazzurri did so courtesy of goals from a couple of unlikely sources.
Striker Arnautovic has been on the fringes for much of this season. The former West Ham United and Bologna striker has fallen down the pecking order somewhat.
Meanwhile, young midfielder Asllani has not found it easy to get playing time.
The Albanian has been well behind Hakan Calhanoglu in the holding midfield role.
But that does not mean that either Arnautovic or Asllani have lost the trust of Inter coach Simone Inzaghi.
The Nerazzurri coach included both in the starting eleven. And they both rewarded the coach’s faith.
Arnautovic scored Inter’s opener. This was his reward for an impressive, battling performance up front.
Meanwhile, Asllani scored directly from a corner to double Inter’s advantage.
After the match, Inter midfielder Frattesi said that “I’m happy for Marko and Kristjan, who both scores.”
The former Sassuolo midifelder then admitted that “After we went out to Bologna at this stage this season there was an air of revenge.”
“We want to go all the way this season,” he added.
Of his teammate Asllani’s goal, Frattesi admits that “I asked him whether he intended it or not” at halftime.
Meanwhile, Frattesi gave his thoughts on Udinese’s performance. “They started strongly,” he said. “Our coach said that they’d start like that.”
“And then after a chance at the beginning, they did little to create chances to score.”
“Even though they’re a great team,” Frattesi noted.
“Then we did well to break the deadlock. Asllani did a great job with his goal then, and then we managed the game well.”
