Inter Milan are working to secure the future of in-form striker Francesco Pio Esposito with a contract extension.

This according to Italian transfer journalist Nicolo Schira. He reports in a tweet that the Nerazzurri will offer the 19-year-old, currently on loan at Spezia, a new deal until the end of June 2029.

At the moment, Inter Milan striker Francesco Pio Esposito is on loan at Spezia in Serie B.

And it has been a very successful loan season for the 19-year-old.

Last campaign, Pio Esposito had found his feet his first season in senior football playing for the Ligurian club. But he had not been prolific in front of goal.

This time around has been a very different story.

Pio Esposito has scored fourteen goals so far over the course of the campaign. This makes him the top scorer in the Italian top flight at the moment.

The teenage striker’s goals have been vital for Spezia’s push for promotion to Serie A.

Naturally, Pio Esposito’s form has led to transfer interest.

Already last summer there were reportedly offers from Serie A. However, Pio Esposito made the choice to stay at Spezia to continue his growth, a decision that now looks a wise one.

However, that certainly hasn’t put an end to the transfer interest in Pio Esposito.

Reportedly, Napoli made an offer for the 19-year-old. They didn’t want to sign him on loan – they want to sign Pio Esposito outright.

But Inter rejected that bid.

Meanwhile, from the Premier League the likes of Manchester United and Leicester City have reportedly expressed an interest in the young striker’s signature.

However, for their part Inter have no intention of losing hold of Pio Esposito.

The Nerazzurri see the teenager as having a long-term future with the club.

Therefore, according to Italian transfer journalist Nicolo Schira, Inter’s intention is to tie down Pio Esposito’s future. They want to agree a new contract with him.

According to Schira, the Nerazzurri want Pio Esposito to extend his deal until the end of June 2029.
