Inter Milan defender Benjamin Pavard feels that channeling last season’s success remains a challenging task for the Nerazzurri.

Simone Inzaghi’s men won the Serie A title by a landslide last term. However, some of the other top Italian sides have working hard on the market to cut the deficit.

Therefore, Pavard insists that repeating last season’s achievements won’t be easy. In fact, he considers it his club’s biggest challenge for the current term.

“The biggest difficulty will be replicating last season’s success,” said the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner in his pre-match interview with Inter TV (via FcInterNews) ahead of the upcoming clash against Atalanta.

“Last term, we had a very important season. We are ready for tonight.”

Pavard will be in the starting lineup alongside fellow defenders Francesco Acerbi and Alessandro Bastoni.

The Frenchman urges his teammates to find solutions on the pitch against a difficult opponent.

“We have to find solutions to try to close the game, Atalanta is a great team.”

Benjamin Pavard Discusses Inter Milan Vs Atalanta Clash

Pavard admits he has yet to hit his stride physically following his late return from the summer vacation. Nevertheless, he feels ready to play for the entire match.

“I feel very good, I know I’m not 100% yet but I’m getting back into my best physical condition. In previous weeks, I wasn’t ready to play 90 minutes.”

The former Bayern Munich also spoke to DAZN (via FcInterNews), and once again heaped praise on Atalanta.

“For me, it will certainly be an important match but they all are.

“They are a great team but we don’t underestimate anyone. We are taking it one match at a time. We are here to win, and hope to collect the three points tonight.”
