Inter Milan dealt alarming injury blow ahead of Barcelona tie | OneFootball

Inter Milan, Barcelona’s upcoming opponents in the Champions League, have late this week announced a blow on the personnel front.

This comes amid confirmation that Marcus Thuram is set for an incoming spell on the sidelines.

Frontman Thuram for his part featured from the off on Wednesday night, as Inter Milan booked their spot in the semi-finals of the Champions League.

En route to a 2-2 draw with Bayern Munich, and 4-3 aggregate triumph, the France international saw out the full 90 minutes at San Siro.

Along the way, however, Thuram suffered an injury setback.

As per journalist Fabrizio Romano:

‘Inter striker Marcus Thuram has suffered a muscle injury as he’ll be assessed for the upcoming games.’

Though the extent of Thuram’s impending absence is not yet known, his status to face Barcelona in the last four of the Champions League has for the time being been thrown up in the air.
