Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi has locked his eyes on all three points in tonight’s crucial Champions League clash against Monaco.
During his pre-match chat with Prime via FCInterNews, Inzaghi also reviewed Inter’s European campaign.
Except for a last-gasp 1-0 defeat at Bayer Leverkusen on matchday six, it’s been a near-faultless league-phase journey.
Indeed, Inzaghi’s side claimed five wins from the six remaining Champions League matches this term.
The only blemish on this superb record was a scoreless draw at Manchester City in the opening round.
Furthermore, Leverkusen’s late strike remains the only goal Inter have conceded in Europe heading into the league-phase finale.
“The way we’ve always been a team, maintaining great organization, as shown by our defensive stats,” Inzaghi hailed his team’s effort.
“It means the squad has approached every challenge with the right mindset.”
Inter will secure a top-four finish with a win, irrespective of other results.
Therefore, Simone Inzaghi grasps the significance of delivering another top performance.

“It’s a very important match,” he stated. “We know the great journey we’ve had in Europe so far.
“We are one step away, and we hope to take it. We’ll need the best version of Inter because we’re facing a team of great quality.”
Despite talks Inzaghi could bench Marcus Thuram for Marko Arnautovic, the manager insists there will be no squad rotations.
“No, not rotation,” he continued. “I will certainly make some changes compared to the last match in Lecce, just as I did after Prague.
“I’ll have to find energy wherever I can.”
He then commented on the differences between finishing in the top four and the top eight.
“Of course, there’s a difference. Our main goal is to be among the top eight.
“We knew it would be extremely difficult, but now it’s within our reach.
“Many big teams will likely miss out on the top eight. We must put in a great performance.”
Finally, Inter will take on AC Milan in Sunday’s Derby della Madonnina.
“I will only think about the match against Monaco,” Inzaghi confirmed.
“More than the derby, I will consider the previous games and select those in the best physical and mental condition to play.”
