Inter Milan captain Lautaro Martinez will be hungry to put the humiliating 5-0 loss to PSG in the Champions League final in the past at the Club World Cup.
As Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews, note, the 27-year-old has not taken to the pitch for Argentina during the international break.
Inter Milan did not just fail to win the Champions League final. They lost in absolutely stunning fashion.
The Nerazzurri shipped five goals without reply against Paris Saint-Germain. That meant that it was the widest margin that a team has ever lost the Champions League final by.
Inter had seemingly proved that they belonged at the top European level with wins against teams like Arsenal, Bayern Munich, and Barcelona.
However, that defeat in the final brought back huge doubts.

Perhaps no Inter player will have felt the force of that loss to PSG quite as much as the team’s captain.
Lautaro Martinez may have even felt that the Ballon d’Or was a possibility had Inter won against PSG.
Meanwhile, the Inter captain was part of the Argentina squad during the international break.
However, the Corriere dello Sport note, Martinez did not take to the pitch for the Albiceleste.
