Inter Milan remain keen on Udinese defender Oumar Solet.

This according to Italian outlet FCInterNews. They report that the Frenchman impressed Inter’s scouts during a recent Serie A draw with Napoli.

Inter are all but certain to make a big defensive signing or two next summer.

The Nerazzurri will have to find a succession plan for veteran duo Francesco Acerbi and Stefan de Vrij.

And Inter are casting a wide net. There are reportedly quite a few names from within Serie A on their shortlist.

One defender who Inter have looked at in the past is Oumar Solet. The Frenchman had come onto the Nerazzurri’s radar while at Red Bull Salzburg.

Inter’s prior interest in Solet’s signature never came of anything.

There had been a few clubs in Serie A who were interested in the 25-year-old.

However, in the end it was Udinese who secured Solet’s signature on a free transfer. He joined the Friulani during the January transfer window.

And Solet has really hit the ground running in Udinese. He has become a pillar of the backline under coach Kosta Runjuaic.

That was evident in a recent Serie A draw with league leaders Napoli.

FCIN report that Inter had scouts at that match. And watching Solet’s performance was one of their main tasks.

It certainly hasn’t escaped Inter’s notice how well Solet has settled into Serie A. That makes him all the more appealing as a potential defensive option.

Udinese have Oumar Solet under contract until the end of June 2027. But they will certainly be ready to sell him for a profit sooner or later.
