Inter head coach Simone Inzaghi expressed his preoccupation regarding the status of Marcus Thuram.

The French forward went down with an ankle injury after scoring a hat-trick versus Torino on Saturday night.

In his post-match presser, Inzaghi discussed Thuram’s injury and Barella’s recovery ahead of the showdown with Roma, scheduled 20 October, after the international break.

“Thuram? He took a blow to the tendon at the end of the first half and was complaining a bit.”

“Then he asked to be substituted, now he was nursing the injury with an ice pack: he was happy for the victory but still a bit worried.”

“The doctors will evaluate him: I’m a bit worried, because a player who scores three goals and asks me to be substituted is enough of a reason for me to worry.”

“As for Barella we will see day by day. I haven’t seen him for two weeks, I see him undergoing treatment: he hasn’t returned to the field yet, but there is confidence.”

Two weeks have passed, three were needed: he is a player I am waiting for, we know how important he is for us and he is trying to recover as soon as possible.”
