Four years later, history seems to be repeating itself for Lorenzo Pellegrini.

Back then, in 2021, the Roma captain began the season with his contract expiring, only to sign a new contract until 2026 on October 2nd.

That season concluded with a triumph in the Conference League, with him lifting the trophy as the overall leader. Now, with the new season upon us, Pellegrini finds himself in a similar contractual situation once again.

The current Giallorossi number 7’s contract is expiring, and the atmosphere around him is more uncertain than it was four years ago.

Today, however, Roma is beset by questions and changes, starting with the technical guidance entrusted to Gian Piero Gasperini. Despite everything, Pellegrini has no intention of giving up and is aiming to convince the new coach.

Gaining Gasperini’s trust and securing a contract renewal on the pitch, which currently seems far from certain. There are, however, plenty of alternatives. If things don’t go as hoped, a departure could become a reality.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Antonio Conte’s Napoli are keeping a close eye on him. But not only that: Inter are also keeping an eye on him, thanks to the excellent relationship between the player’s entourage and the Nerazzurri management.
