According to Globo, Corinthians resumed their training schedule on Saturday after a 15-day break, marking the squad’s first full session together as they gear up for a busy second half of the season. The return to the CT Joaquim Grava saw players undergo physical assessments and an initial strength workout before transitioning to on-pitch activities under head coach Dorival Júnior.
The staff's primary objectives during this period are tactical reinforcement and overall squad cohesion. Assistant coach Lucas Silvestre commented on the rare opportunity for extensive preparation, noting, “This is the first moment we have the whole group available for training. The idea is to take advantage of this time to communicate what we want, what we need to improve, as there are many aspects where we’ve already made progress since our arrival.”
The day’s program included drills focused on ball possession and coping with opponent pressing—signaling an emphasis on refining technical and tactical foundations ahead of fixtures resuming. Dorival Júnior led these exercises to introduce new tactical concepts, aiming to blend physical work with technical improvements throughout the training cycle.
Corinthians are preparing for two key fronts: the restart of the Campeonato Brasileiro and a high-stakes Copa do Brasil round-of-16 tie against rivals Palmeiras. Their next competitive fixture will be against Red Bull Bragantino on July 13, giving Júnior’s staff valuable time to integrate changes and address any lingering fitness issues across the roster.
Silvestre highlighted the strategic value of this break, explaining, “We haven’t been able to have this kind of preparation period for many years. The idea is to combine fitness and technical work, connect all these spaces, and bring everything into our training.”
The squad is expected back at CT Joaquim Grava on Sunday morning for the next stage of preseason-like build-up. With a full complement of players, the technical team aims to lay foundations not just for immediate results, but for sustained improvement as Corinthians face a congested calendar in the months ahead.
