Inter Milan defender Yann Bisseck will undergo medical tests on a possible muscle injury today.
This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews. They report that the 24-year-old has suffered his issue during the Supercoppa Italiana final.
Inter have relied a lot on Bisseck over the past few weeks.
The German has been a real stalwart at the back in the absence of Benjamin Pavard and Francesco Acerbi.
Bisseck has been one of the regular starters for Inter in that duo’s absence.
However, that gruelling run of matches may have caught up with the 24-year-old.
Bisseck was not part of yesterday’s fully training session.
It was not immediately clear what the precise issue was for the German. But he was not feeling at his best physically.
The sense is that Bisseck may have suffered a muscular overload during the Supercoppa Italiana final against AC Milan.
And today, the Gazzetta report, Bisseck will undergo tests with Inter’s medical staff.
These will determine whether the German will need a spell on the sidelines.
In the meantime, however, Pavard is ready to return. And Acerbi is soon to follow. But Bisseck’s injury ensures that Inter won’t necessarily have a fully-stocked defense just yet.
