Chelsea have invested heavily on players in the last two years and inevitably some will be a success and others will go down as a failure.
There’s been turmoil on and off the pitch over the last couple of years but the Blues have made a good start to life under Enzo Maresca and one player who’s impressed is Moises Caicedo.
The midfielder initially struggled following his British record transfer from Brighton last summer, but started to find his feet at the end of last season.
However, this season Caicedo looks like a player reborn and has been in superb form for the Blues and arguably put in the best performance of his Chelsea career in last weekend’s win against West Ham.
The Ecuador international is going to be key this season and whilst his talent and form is appreciated within the Chelsea fan base it appears his quality is also being recognised elsewhere.

Caicedo was named the best under-23 midfielder in the world according to CIES Football Observatory’s data and he was ranked ahead of Eduardo Camavinga and Kobbie Mainoo.
It was always going to be difficult to live up to the price tag, but it appears Caicedo has found his form, settled into life at Chelsea and is now showing why the Blues paid the money they did.
