Alexis Saelemaekers has been reborn under Claudio Ranieri, and Roma seem to want to resolve any doubts about his future ahead of time.

According to Il Tempo (via Calciomercato.com), this could be an important week in determining where Saelemaekers will play beyond this season. His agent Gordon Stipic has arrived in Milano to talk with Milan and with Roma about making his loan a permanent deal.

Having arrived in the capital last summer in exchange for Tammy Abraham going on a dry loan the other way, the former Anderlecht player has become a key player for Ranieri. This season he has played 13 games and has racked up four goals and three assists, from a new wing-back position.

Roma director Florent Ghisolfi is aware that the summer chat with Geoffrey Moncada about a possible buy-out figure of €15m is only the starting point. The two clubs will talk, with the desire to reach a solution that can satisfy all parties.

Saelemaekers, whose contract with Milan expires in 2027, is happy at Roma and would not be averse to continuing his adventure in Giallorossi. The doors are closed at Milan and to date there are no different signals, not even with Sergio Conceicao having taken over.

Moncada and Giorgio Furlani want to cash in despite the fact the Belgian seems like he would be useful for Conceicao. The negotiations will not be tied to possible talks over the permanent signing of Abraham, which will be spoken about separately.

As a reminder, Saelemaekers cost Milan €3.5m as a loan fee and a €3.7m option to buy was triggered six months after his arrival from Anderlecht. As of June 30, he had a residual cost on the accounts of around €2.5m.
