FC Barcelona extended their lead over Real Madrid in the La Liga race as they got the full three points from their last league encounter against Osasuna.

Several players stood out for the Blaugranes in this game, including Pedri, who was once again recognised as the Man of the Match.

Ferran Torres was another stand-out performer, whose highlight from this game was the goal he scored in only the 11th minute of the match.

As SPORT has reported, the Valencian forward also talked to the media after the game, and agreed with the decision to hand the MOTM prize to Pedri:

“I would give all the MVP awards to Pedri, he is the best. Without a doubt, he is having a great season, and today is just another example of that.”

The Barcelona forward went on to express his satisfaction with his role on the pitch and in the squad despite not being a starter:

“I don’t consider myself a super-sub, but rather a player who is ready whenever the coach needs me. I try to make the most of my minutes. Lately, I feel very comfortable playing up front, but that doesn’t mean I can’t go back to the wing.”

Torres also highlighted the importance of this match for his team:

“Every match is a final, and today we handled it very well. We had to try to seal it as soon as possible. It was important to win to stay three points ahead of Madrid, and now it’s time to rest and start thinking about Sunday.”

This win was an important one without any doubt. Osasuna was the team that had beaten Barcelona for the first time this season, ending their 7-game winning streak at the start of the season. Thus, this win would have meant a lot of Hansi Flick, and Torres would be quite glad to have contributed to it.
