BBC football pundit Chris Sutton has stated his prediction for the upcoming Premier League clash between Manchester United and Arsenal at Old Trafford.

The Gunners returned to winning ways in midweek with a stunning 7-1 victory over PSV Eindhoven in the first leg of the Champions League round of 16.

The London giants had a nervy start at the PSV Stadion, but they went on to dominate proceedings. Martin Odegaard starred with two goals and an assist.

Mikel Arteta’s side will now face the Red Devils in the league on Sunday. They will be aiming to avenge the penalty shoot-out loss in the FA Cup third round in January.

Ahead of the encounter, Sutton said that United seem to raise their level against the better teams but he believes Arsenal will find a way to beat the Red Devils.

The reputed pundit added the Gunners won’t be scoring seven at Old Trafford, but the game has all the hallmarks of ending in a 1-0 triumph for the visitors.

He said: “United do seem to, somehow, raise their game against the better teams and that is the only way they are going to make this close.

“I still think Arsenal will win it, though.

“United might try to make things hard for them, but I definitely think Arsenal will find a way through.

“They won’t score seven again, but this game has got all the hallmarks of ending up 1-0 to the Arsenal.”

Arsenal go into the game as potential favourites to win, but they can’t take things for granted.

The Red Devils have plenty of injury concerns like the Gunners but managed to win the FA Cup third round tie on penalties after playing with 10 men for 60 minutes.

Kai Havertz squandered plenty of big scoring chances during the Cup tie, while Odegaard missed a glorious opportunity to score from the penalty spot.

Altay Bayindir also made two stellar saves to deny Declan Rice, but the Turkey international won’t be available for the Red Devils on Sunday due to injury.

Arsenal will be the fresher team heading into the encounter. The Red Devils faced Real Sociedad on the road in the first leg of the Europa League round of 16 yesterday.

They also played 120 minutes against Fulham in the FA Cup fifth round loss last Sunday. Arsenal had the weekend off after their early exit from the competition.

The Gunners have the opportunity to do a league double over United for the second-straight season.
