Rival clubs are increasingly speaking well of Chelsea and the way they are operating according to The Athletic’s David Ornstein.
The Blues were taken over by Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital almost three years ago, and virtually everything from top to bottom has changed at the club.
The playing squad has been totally revamped with over £1bn invested, with Chelsea breaking the British transfer record twice with the signings of Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo.
It’s fair to say it’s been a difficult three years both on and off the pitch for the Blues, who are yet to win a trophy under the new ownership.
Chelsea have also failed to qualify for the Champions League over the past two seasons, and are involved in a tightly contested race to qualify this campaign.
The Blues started the season really well, but since Christmas things have taken a dip and the Blues have won just three of their last 11 Premier League games.

John Obi Mikel has claimed it would be a disaster to miss out on the Champions League again, although it’s believed there’s no exit clauses in player contracts if they don’t.
Fans protested against the ownership before the win against Southampton last week, and there’s an increased frustration at how the club is being run.
However, according to Ornstein rival clubs are starting to take notice of what Chelsea are doing and increasingly speaking well of the club.
“I can tell you from speaking to rival clubs, they’re increasing speaking well of Chelsea – quality of signings, age profile, contract lengths, wage bill, Maresca appointment, multi club entry with Strasbourg etc,” he told The Athletic.

“It’s never nice to be told to be patient but I think that’s required, the amount of on and off upheaval at Chelsea has been extraordinary and it feels like we need to give it more time before forming concrete judgments.”
Perhaps in the long term things will work out, but the quickest way to get other clubs worried is by winning trophies.
