However the 20 year-old left back, currently on a season-long loan from his boyhood club Barcelona, remains coy about what the future might hold for him come the summer.

Assist for Goal of the Season Contender

Valle has impressed at Celtic, earning seven starts and played in 13 matches and while he has yet to score he has contributed to the attack with four assists most notably at McDiarmid Park for Adam Idah’s Goal of the Season contender against St Johnstone.

Speaking to on the Spanish radio station Cadena SER (via Mundo Deportivo) Valle had this to say about Celtic after yesterday Premier Sports Cup Final against theRangers at Hampden Park.

‘I am very happy and I think the team is spectacular’

“Both I and the team in general are in very good dynamics. I am very happy and I think the team is spectacular. It is a great prize to end the year,” Álex Valle said.

“Barça has always been my home. This would be my eleventh season, so I have a special affection for it. In the end they are football circumstances and everyone does what they can.

“I am very grateful for everything that has happened to me and I is happening in life. I follow the present and I enjoy it, what happens next will be what has to happen,” Valle said, also noted that his game has improved at Celtic.

Improving working under Brendan Rodgers

“I consider that I have improved and I will improve in other aspects in these coming months in the Scottish football.”

Valle signed a one year contract extension at Barcelona ahead of his loan move to Celtic going through.

It remains to be seen whether he is going to be part of Barcelona boss Hansi Flick’s plans for next season and if there’s nothing positive there then Celtic could be able to snap up the player who has apparently a low buy out clause in his deal.

Sensibly Valle is keeping his options open

Brendan Rodgers will be well aware of Valle’s position and will have to assess whether he wants to retain the player on a permanent contract for the next number of years. Valle, like so many players currently at Celtic, are clearly improving working under the Celtic manager and Valle now has a taste of the glory of playing for Celtic domestically and also competing at the highest level in the Champions League.

Sensibly Valle is keeping his options open, after all both clubs will have to show their hand before he has any decision to make. After collecting a League Cup medal and with Celtic enjoying a healthy lead at the top of the Scottish Premiership, more silverware glory and medals around his neck should be coming Valle’s way in the coming months.

Hopefully  he’ll get a taste for it as the Barca Boy is a keeper….
