The Vancouver Whitecaps are going through one of their best seasons in the MLS. One point behind San Diego in the Western Conference table, Jesper Sørensen wants to reinforce his roster to keep the Caps in the fight.
According to GiveMeSport, the Caps have all but made official the last details to sign former Bayern Munich legend Thomas Müller.
It's a surprising move given Vancouver's history of making lower-profile purchases. But there's no doubt Muller will fit seamlessly into the Whitecaps' attack. Here's why:

Thomas Müller is known for his offensive mindset. However, the German legend isn't fast, agile, or skillful; his best attribute is being where he has to be.
Alphonso Davies, Bayern Munich fullback and former Whitecaps wonderkid, said in a Twitch stream: "He's not very fast, he's not very good at dribbling, but his IQ and touches are so good."
That's the reward the Caps will receive from the German legend. The team already possesses a powerful attack featuring Brian White, Emmanuel Sabbi, and Pedro Vite. Ryan Gauld can also be included in that equation if he can get healthy.
With the addition of Müller, the team's build-up play will become more fluid. Thanks to his positioning, the German will find open teammates.
The 35-year-old often enters the box to look for a shot on goal but also stays outside to contribute to link-up play. So, the Caps will be getting a box-to-box player in the offensive half.
Arriving at Bayern 25 years ago and making his senior debut during the 2008-09 season, he departs the club as one of its all-time greats.
He scored 150 career Bundesliga goals and assisted 174 more. He also scored 57 times in UEFA Champions League play. His Bayern clubs won an astounding 13 domestic league titles, two UCL and two Club World Cup crowns.
Internationally, he was part of Germany's most recent World Cup-winning side in 2014 in Brazil, and he was the top scorer at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.
