La Liga giants Real Madrid could afford an indirect helping hand to a member of the attacking ranks at arch rivals Barcelona this coming week.

That’s according to Diario Sport, who highlight Lamine Yamal as the Blaugrana star in question.

Real Madrid are of course fresh off booking their spot in the semi-finals of the Club World Cup on Saturday night.

Following a pulsating affair in New Jersey, Los Blancos ultimately put Borussia Dortmund to the sword by three goals to two.

Next up for Xabi Alonso’s troops comes a daunting showdown with Champions League holders Paris Saint-Germain.

And according to Sport, the clash could go some way towards deciding the winner of the next Ballon d’Or.

The two current frontrunners for the ‘Golden Ball’ of course come in the form of Lamine Yamal, and Ousmane Dembélé.

The widespread understanding, though, is that if the latter’s PSG manage to go all the way at the Club World Cup, Dembélé will be a shoo-in for the prize.

Lamine’s hopes of snatching the accolade away from the Frenchman could therefore be greatly boosted by none other than Real Madrid at MetLife Stadium this coming Wednesday.
