Paul Pogba and Juventus are on the verge of parting ways once and for all, with the French midfielder’s departure set to be dramatically beneficial for the Bianconeri’s balance sheet.

The 31-year-old returned to the Allianz Stadium in 2022, signing a four-year contract worth €8m per season, but his salary was then frozen when the player was handed a four-year ban in September 2023 after failing a doping test.

Pogba has since been earning a minimum wage of €2.000 per month and, while he insisted he wanted to return to play for Juventus after his doping ban was reduced to 18 months, the Bianconeri have always considered a contract termination by mutual consent as the only viable option, especially for the financial saving it would entail.

How much money Juventus will save by terminating Pogba’s contract

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Pogba’s contract termination will save Juventus about €30m gross, considering the last 12 months’ minimum salary and the seasonal €8m, plus €2m in bonuses, of his contract until 2026 combined.

An offic announcement from the Old Lady should be imminential and is expected before the end of the international break, allowing the ex-France international to sign for any other club as a free agent, with a number of teams from England, Europe and MLS reportedly interested.
